Farhan Akhtar has announced the new release date of his upcoming sports drama Toofan. The film, which was earlier scheduled to release on May 21 and was postponed due to the outbreak of the second wave of the coronavirus, will now stream on Amazon Prime Video on July 16.
The Farhan Akhtar-starrer Toofaan is all set for a digital release on July 16 on Amazon Prime Video, the actor tweeted on Wednesday. He wrote: “With humility, love and in dedication to the fighting spirit of the beautiful people of our nation, our film ‘Toofaan’ will be releasing on July 16th. #ToofaanOnPrime”. Announcing the release date, Farhan wrote on Twitter, “With humility, love and in dedication to the fighting spirit of the beautiful people of our nation, our film ‘Toofaan’ will be releasing on July 16th. #ToofaanOnPrime.”
Earlier in May, Farhan had released a statement where he said he is more focused on helping the community in these testing times and would postpone his film’s release.
Farhan Akhtar, who was last seen in the 2019 hit The Sky Is Pink, is soon going to treat movie buffs with his upcoming outing Toofan, the release date of which has been revealed. The forthcoming film will stream on Amazon Prime Video from May 21, 2021. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani (Excel Entertainment), Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (ROMP Pictures), and Farhan, the highly anticipated sports-drama is helmed by Rakeysh. “After working with Farhan in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, I was certain he would be the perfect protagonist for Toofan. The best thing about him is that he does not act the part, but lives it completely,” said Rakeysh as reported by news agency ANI.
“Toofan is a story that will motivate and inspire all of us to get out of comfort zones and fight towards achieving our dreams. We cannot wait to present our film to viewers across the globe,” he added.
