Today Monsoon Update: Warning of heavy rains in Mumbai till July 15

Warning of torrential rains in 8 districts including Mumbai

Mumbai: A red alert has been issued in Mumbai, Raigad and Ratnagiri till July 15. Yellow alert has been issued in Thane, Palghar district. The meteorological department has given a big news regarding rain. (Monsoon Update: Heavy Rain alert in Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri Red Alert)

The meteorological department has warned of torrential rains in eight districts, including Mumbai. Therefore, an appeal has been made to the citizens to be vigilant and not to go out of the house. Maharashtra will get good rains in 4-5 days. A yellow alert has been issued in Mumbai today. Raigad, Ratnagiri will have a red alert today. The meteorological department has forecast good rains in Marathwada and central Maharashtra.

Four buffaloes were swept away in Padve village in Guhagar taluka of Ratnagiri due to torrential rains. Three of the buffaloes were rescued in critical condition. They were taken to Katale Nawanagar area for grazing. On the way back, the rain intensified. So the river flooded. The four buffaloes were carried away.

Due to torrential rains, Kelvali village in Rajapur taluka became inundated. Ashat MSEDCL employee Rupesh Mahadik came out of the water and went to the electricity pole. After completing the technical work there, he came back out of the water.

There was 15 to 20 feet of water in Jawahar Chowk in Rajapur. Moreover, citizens have also taken refuge in safe places. Locals complain that water infiltrates into the house every year.
