New Delhi: The number of patients with corona virus delta variant is increasing rapidly in Britain. The government is considering extending the lockdown for another 4 weeks after June 21, given the growing number of Delta variant patients. According to media reports, 8,125 new corona patients have been registered in the UK in the last 24 hours. This is the highest number of patients in a single day since February. According to the UK’s Public Health England (PHE), the number has risen to 42,323 in the past week.
No decision has yet been made on whether to increase the lockdown, according to the UK government. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is studying the latest figures. They may announce an extension of the lockdown on Monday considering all available options. In fact, the Delta variant was first discovered in India.
