Mumbai: It is seen that crime has not decreased even in lockdown in the city. Recently, a naval officer raped his colleague’s wife. The incident came to the notice of the police on May 17 after a complaint was lodged by the woman. Police said the woman was raped last month after her arrest.
A naval officer has rented a house in Mumbai’s Colaba area. The concerned officer had gone to Kerala for a few days for training. Meanwhile, an unmarried colleague took advantage of his absence. A colleague allegedly assaulted a naval officer’s wife at home, police said.
After returning home from Kerala, the victim told her husband everything. With great courage she took her husband into confidence. He then lodged a complaint with the police against the accused. Earlier, the accused had threatened to kill the victim and defame her husband by lying. However, with great courage, the victim told her husband the whole story.
According to police, his colleague came to visit his wife in the absence of a naval officer. He had also happily brought her a gift as he had just received a promotion. But with a headache, she went to rest in the bedroom.
Meanwhile, he entered the bedroom to shake his head and get a massage. He then tried to force himself on her. The woman tried to stop him. But the accused raped the woman, threatening to kill her. A case has been registered against the accused. Police are investigating further.
