New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a Rs 125 coin to mark the 125th birth anniversary of ISKCON founder Swami Prabhupada. A special commemorative coin of Rs 125 was issued on Wednesday (September 1) on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). The great patriot Swami Prabhupada
Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a commemorative coin through video conferencing. At that time, Modi said that Swami Prabhupada was a supernatural devotee of Krishna as well as a great patriot.
Swamiji had also fought in the freedom struggle of the country. He had canceled his diploma from a Scottish college in support of the non-cooperation movement.
Hare Krishna movement
Swami Prabhupada established temples in more than 100 countries of the world. He wrote a book showing the world the path of devotional yoga. The ISKCON he founded is considered as the ‘Hare Krishna Andolan’.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that ISKCON temples in different countries have kept Gurukul alive in Indian culture. ISKCON convinced the world that India’s faith means exuberance and joy and faith in humanity.
ISKCON has translated the Bhagavad Gita and other Vedic literature into 89 languages. ISKCON is playing an important role in the dissemination of Vedic literature in various languages in countries around the world.
