The same thing has been happening for the last several days. However, petrol and diesel prices have reached an all-time high, the highest level of inflation. In Mumbai, the price of petrol has gone beyond Rs 99.

Prices rose 10 times in May
Petrol and diesel prices have been on the rise for four days in a row since May 4, while petrol and diesel prices have been rising for the first 18 days due to the election. Petrol and diesel have become 10 times more expensive in May. In May, petrol prices have gone up by Rs 2.45 per liter in Delhi, while diesel has gone up by Rs 2.78 per liter this month.

Petrol and diesel prices are reaching record levels in the country day by day. Retail fuel prices did not rise much in March-April. But now oil prices have risen. Petrol and diesel are being sold at record rates in all metro cities. Meanwhile, there was no change in fuel prices today (Wednesday). On Tuesday, petrol price was hiked by 27 paise per liter and diesel by 29 paise.

In Delhi, petrol is priced at Rs 92.85 per liter. At the same time, diesel has gone up to Rs 83.31 per liter. Mumbai has witnessed a record increase. In Mumbai, petrol is being sold at Rs 99.14 per liter and diesel at Rs 90.71 per liter. In Chennai, petrol is being sold at Rs 94.54 per liter and diesel at Rs 88.34 per liter. In Kolkata, petrol is priced at Rs 92.92 per liter and diesel at Rs 86.35 per liter.

On Tuesday, crude oil prices were higher than in March. For the first time since March 15, Brent crude was trading above 70 70 a barrel. That was followed by an increase yesterday. But today prices are stable. After these ten days of increase, petrol has gone above Rs 100 in most states of the country.

In Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and most of the cities in Maharashtra, the price had already crossed the Rs 100 mark and with yesterday’s rise, the price in Mumbai has reached close to Rs 100. Rajasthan has the highest value added tax on petrol. It is followed by Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, the most expensive petrol and diesel in the country’s Sriganganagar district in Rajasthan at Rs 103.80 and Rs 96.30 per liter respectively.
