According to the Seychelles Ministry of Health, the number of active patients with corona here has doubled since last week. Also, the number of new patients has reached 2486. Notably, 37 percent of those infected with the coronavirus had received both doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
In Seychelles, meanwhile, 57 per cent of people were vaccinated with a synopharm developed in China and the rest with the covishield vaccine produced in India. Meanwhile, in India too, most people are being vaccinated with Kovishield. Therefore, there is concern if corona patients are increasing despite vaccination. On the other hand, this is a matter of concern for India. The good news, however, is that none of the corona-infected people have died from the corona so far.
The B 1.351 variant of the Corona was found in Seychelles in February. The Covishield vaccine has not been shown to be more effective on this variant. Therefore, South Africa had suspended the use of this vaccine.
