Eligibility Criteria For NEET

  • Candidate should be a citizen of India, if the candidate is not a resident of India, then he or she should be an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Non-Resident Indians(NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs).
  • For candidates from all categories, the minimum age limit is 17 years.
  • For students in the general group, the overall age limit is 25 years.
  • For reserved group students, the overall age limit is 30 years.

Required Qualification To Attend NEET Test

  • Students must have passed the Class 12 board examination or a similar examination from a recognized board or university with at least five compulsory subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, English and an elective subject.
  • In qualifying exams, candidates must obtain the required aggregate marks. For general category, aggregate marks are 50% and for physically disabled general category candidates aggregate marks is 45%. For SC or ST or OBC category candidates must obtain 40% marks and physically handicapped SC or ST or OBC category candidates must have 40% marks.

NEET PG or Post Graduate Entrance Examination is conducted for admission in postgraduate courses in medical colleges in India.

Students who have done MBBS course from MCI Recognized Medical College are eligible for this entrance exam.

NEET full form – Know the exam history

NTA NEET full form – National Eligibility cum Entrance Test exam was first proposed to take place from the year 2012 onwards. However, for various reasons, it was postponed for a year by CBSE and the Medical Council of India. It was May 5, 2013, when the NEET exam was set to be held for the first time across the country for aspirants seeking admission for both undergraduate and postgraduate medicine. It was the first-ever medical examination where over 10 lakhs students had registered. On July 18 2013, the Supreme Court gave the decision in support of 115 petitions and cancelled the NEET exam and announced that MCI could not interfere with the admission process done by colleges.

Numerous states including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu strongly denied the exam stating that there was a huge variation in the syllabus. NEET Counselling Process – Final Stage

After getting the scorecard of NEET 2022, candidates can go ahead with the NEET counseling registration which NTA conducts in three rounds. On the grounds of the marks scored by them in the exam, they will be allotted seats in those three rounds. This process goes on until all the government seats in NEET are filled. The admission to 15% All India Quota seats (AIQ) in government medical colleges will be done by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) along with Deemed/Central Universities, AFMS, and ESIC institutes.
