, Mumbai: The hopes of 12 people in the state who are waiting for appointment on the Legislative Council have been dashed. Although the state government sent names for 12 MLA-appointed seats seven months ago, the governor has not yet approved it. After the Mahavikas Aghadi government came to power, 12 Governor-appointed seats in the Legislative Council became vacant in June 2020. Due to the ongoing struggle of the state government with the governor on various issues and also due to corona, the state government did not send these 12 names to the governor immediately. Six months after the vacancy, on November 6, 2020, the Mahavikas Aghadi government sent a proposal for 12 governor-appointed posts to the governor for approval. Mahavikas Aghadi claimed that the list was submitted after going through all the legal procedures.
