Royal Challengers Bangalore tops the points table. Chennai Super Kings are second, Delhi are third and Mumbai are fourth
Mumbai: For the first time in three years, this has happened. In the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi had to accept defeat by just one run. The match could not be won even after coming very close to victory, which was a big disappointment for the Delhi team. On the other hand, Virat Kohli’s team is celebrating once again.
Bangalore beat Delhi Capitals by 1 run Delhi won the toss and elected to bowl first. Kohli scored 17 off 12 paddles, Patidar 31 and Maxwell 25. AB de Villiers brought the storm to the field. He hit 75 off 42 balls, tossing one ball at a time. After losing their five wickets, Bangalore scored 171 runs while Delhi set a target of 172 runs.
Chasing the target, Rishabh Pant scored 58 runs. Shimron has scored 53 and Prithvi Shaw 21 runs. Shikhar Dhawan returned with 6 runs while Steve Smith’s bat could not go beyond 4 runs. Mohammad Siraj and Hershel Patel and AB de Villiers together took 4 wickets for Delhi. They have managed to reach the target of 170 runs in 20 overs.
Bangalore’s Glenn Maxwell is third in the Orange Cap. Delhi’s Shikhar Dhawan tops the list. He has scored 265 runs. Hershel Patel has won the Purple Cap from the very beginning. So far he has taken 17 wickets. Awesh Khan is there to give him a tough fight. He has taken 12 wickets.
