The Indian Army further stated in a statement that “this report appears to be motivated by sources who may be trying to track down the ongoing process of resolving the issues in Eastern Ladakh.” The military has also said that no report should be released by the media until the revelation is made by a military official or an official source.

The Indian Army said in a report published in The Hindu on May 23, 2021, that there was a clash with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley. In the first week of May 2021, there was no such clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley in eastern Ladakh.
