Regarding vaccination of women between the ages of 18 and 44, Tope said, “People between the ages of 18 and 44 will not be vaccinated immediately. The Government of India cannot give a second dose to persons above 45 years of age. Therefore, since they need to be given a second dose, the purchased vaccine will be given to people above 45. Therefore, when the serum is given, the citizens between the ages of 18 and 44 will be vaccinated.
He also informed about the number of patients in the state, ‘After the lockdown, the number of patients has come down from 7 lakh to 4 lakh 75 thousand. The number of patients with mucomycosis is increasing. The lockdown was also discussed at the cabinet meeting. “There was a discussion on extending the lockdown for at least 15 days. The Chief Minister will take the final decision.” That’s what Tope said.
20 lakh doses are required for the second dose. We currently have 10 million doses. He also said that the first dose should not be expected immediately. He further said that further decision would be taken based on the availability of vaccine.
