Mumbai: State Bank of India has issued a special alert for crores of bank customers in the country. If you have a bank account and you want to make a big deal, you need to know this. State Bank of India has said that it is mandatory to connect PAN and Aadhaar. So in such a situation if someone has not linked your PAN and Aadhaar account, they should complete it as soon as possible. The last date for this is September 30, 2021.
If a person does not link their PAN and Aadhaar account before September 30, 2021, their PAN may become inactive. After that, they will not be able to do many financial transactions. In such cases, it is mandatory for everyone to link PAN and Aadhaar account. You can easily complete both these documents by visiting the Income Tax website to link.
State Bank of India tweeted on its official Twitter handle, “We advise customers to link PAN and Aadhaar so that they do not face any inconvenience in accessing banking services.”
If your PAN card becomes inactive, you may have to pay a penalty. You may have to pay a fee of up to Rs 10,000 to activate the PAN card. In such a case, you can be fined Rs 10,000 under Section 272B of the Income Tax Act.
The government has extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar PAN several times. Earlier, the deadline was June 30, 2021. But to provide relief during the second wave of corona, the deadline was again extended to September 30, 2021.
