Meanwhile, Mirabai is also very happy to win her first medal for the country. In an interview with WION’s sports editor Digvijay Singh, Mirabai said, “I am very happy to have won the first medal for the country.

Mirabai further said, I was ready to give my best performance. The 2016 Olympics taught me a lot. I tried my best to win a gold medal but I could not win a gold medal. When I took the second lift, I realized that I was going to win a medal for the country. I am very happy to win the medal.

“The whole country was watching me at that time. All the countrymen had hoped for me. I was a little uneasy but I was determined to give my best. I had worked hard for it,” Mirabai said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Mirabai Chanu after winning the silver medal. Prime Minister Modi has tweeted. He says in his tweet, “No better start can be expected than this. I congratulate her on winning a silver medal in weightlifting. Her success will inspire everyone.”
