Mumbai: A cargo ship (Barge-P305) capsized in the Arabian Sea in Cyclone Tauktae. The rescue operation of the ship Barge-P305 was then launched. So far, 184 of the 261 people on board have been rescued. However, 76 people are still missing. Their search is on.
So far 618 people have been evacuated
With the exception of 184 from the Barge-P305, all 137 people trapped on the GAL Constructor have been rescued by the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard. 196 people from Barge SS3 and 101 people from Drill Oil Sagar Bhushan have been evacuated safely.
Rescue operations continue on Barge P-305
The Barge-P305 is still carrying 76 people and is being searched by Indian Navy’s Beas, Betwa and Teg Naval Ships, along with INS Kochi and INS Kolkata. Rescue operations are still ongoing. Barge P305 sank 35 nautical miles from Mumbai. Search and rescue operations are also being carried out with the help of P8I and Naval Helicopters.
Helpline numbers have been announced for the information of the stranded people. A helpline has been issued to get information on people trapped in Barge P305.
