Government signals postponement of health university exams due to Covid outbreak

Covid outbreak: Strict state restrictions have been extended till June 1 against the backdrop of Covid-19. Therefore, there are indications that the Health University Exam will be postponed.

Mumbai: Covid outbreak: As the state’s strict restrictions on COVID-19 have been extended till June 1, a re-proposal should be sent to the government regarding the examinations of various faculties of the University of Health starting from June 2, said Amit. Presented by Vilasrao Deshmukh. So there are indications that these exams are being postponed.

An online meeting chaired by Medical Education Minister Deshmukh reviewed the examination schedules of various branches of the Health University. The meeting was attended by Saurabh Vijay, Secretary, Department of Medical Education and Drugs, Dr. in-charge of the University. Dr. Nitin Karmalkar, Director, Directorate of Medical Education and Research Tatyarao Lahane, Joint Director Dr. Ajay Chandanwale, Registrar Dr. Dr. Kalidas Chavan, Controller of Examinations Dr. Ajit Pathak, Dean of the Faculty of the University. Sachin Mumbare, Dr. Jayant Palaskar, Dr. Srikanth Deshmukh, Dr. Dhanaji Bagal, Dr. Rajshri Naik was present at the meeting.

It was decided to conduct the Winter 2020 degree examinations of various faculties of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences from 2nd June 2021 in the presence of students. Deshmukh directed that in view of the current situation regarding Covid in Maharashtra as well as due to strict restrictions in the state, a decision should be taken in the context of planning of the examination as well as in terms of schedule.

The Summer-2021 examinations for postgraduate medical students were scheduled from 24 June 2021. These exams have already been postponed. The schedule of this exam must be announced. Therefore, a decision should be taken after discussing the examination schedule with all concerned and such a proposal should be submitted to the government for approval, said Medical Education Minister Deshmukh.
