Mumbai: Petrol Price 11 June 2021 Update: Petrol and diesel prices have skyrocketed again today. Mumbai Petrol, the financial capital of the country, has gone beyond Rs 100 per liter. As a result, there are indications that inflation will skyrocket. Mumbai petrol has gone up to Rs 102 per liter. In 135 districts of the country, petrol prices are above Rs 100.
Today, petrol and diesel became more expensive
Petrol and diesel prices have risen sharply this year. But so far there have been only 4 cuts. So far this year alone, petrol prices have risen by about 14 per cent. Prices remained stable in March and April, when five state assembly elections were scheduled. Instead, rates were reduced three times in March and once in April. Today, petrol has gone up by 25-29 paise per liter, while diesel has gone up by 27-30 paise per liter. The price of crude oil in the international market has gone above 72 72 per barrel. This is likely to lead to further rise in prices.
Six-fold increase in prices so far in June
In Mumbai, petrol prices have gone beyond Rs 102 per liter. The price of diesel has gone beyond Rs 94. Prices have risen 6 times so far in June. In June, petrol became costlier by Rs 1.66 per liter and diesel by Rs 1.60 per liter.
Petrol price rose by Rs 4.09 in May. Earlier, petrol and diesel prices were hiked 16 times in May. In March and April, petrol and diesel became cheaper. The general public got some relief from the expensive petrol and diesel on April 15. Petrol and diesel prices were reduced three times in April and March. This was the last change in petrol and diesel prices before April 15, 2015. In Delhi, petrol became cheaper by 22 paise and diesel by 23 paise. In March, petrol became cheaper by 61 paise and diesel by 60 paise. The biggest reason for the three-fold cut in petrol and diesel prices in March was the weakness of crude oil in the global market.
Petrol goes beyond Rs 102 in Mumbai
In Delhi today, petrol is priced at Rs 95.85, in Mumbai it is Rs 102.04 and in Kolkata it is Rs 95.80. And petrol is being sold at Rs 97.19 in Chennai.
