His lawyers claim that Mehul Choksi is a citizen of Antigua
Mumbai: Mehul Choksi, the main accused in the PNAB scam, has come under fire. The first photo of accused Mehul Choksi has come out from Dominica jail. These photos show the wounds on his body. Choksi’s lawyers in the case have claimed to have been beaten in jail.
In the photo in front of Choksi, he looks very ill. His hands look as black and blue as if he had ink on his clothes. Also, the eyes look very red.
Dominica’s Criminal Investigation Department arrested Mehul Choksi. Mehul Choksi is accused in the PNB scam, against which Interpol has also issued a red corner notice. He had fled Antigua to Cuba.
His lawyers claim that Mehul Choksi is a citizen of Antigua. As a citizen of Antigua, he has all the rights he enjoys there. Antigua is a Caribbean country. The country where Mehul Choksi was arrested comes from the vicinity of Antigua. But why did Mehul Choksi go to Dominica? However, this has not been revealed yet.
Choksi and Nirav Modi have been accused of defrauding the Punjab National Bank (PNB) of Rs 13,500 crore by colluding with some bank officials. Nirav Modi is currently in London jail. The CBI is investigating the two. Mehul Choksi’s assets worth over Rs 14 crore were seized by the Enforcement Directorate in the Punjab National Bank scam.
