A sudden fire on the second floor of the four-storey Vijay Vallabh Kovid Hospital caused panic. Fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and controlled the fire.
Mumbai: A major accident has occurred due to fire in a Covid hospital in Virar in Palghar district of Maharashtra in the early hours today. A fierce fire broke out in the ICU of Vijay Vallabh Hospital in Virar West. Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation said, 13 patients died in this accident.
17 Covid patients were being treated here. The injured patients have been shifted to another nearby hospital. The fire broke out on the second floor of a four-storey hospital. Fire brigade has reached the spot and controlled the fire.
After all, no official information has been given about the cause of the accident, but it has been learned from the sources that the accident happened due to short circuit.
24 patients died due to oxygen leak in Nashik hospital
Two days ago, 24 patients died due to an oxygen leak incident in a hospital in Nashik in Maharashtra.
Due to some technical reasons, oxygen leakage occurred and the patients kept on ventilator beds succumbed due to lack of oxygen due to its supply being stopped. When this incident happened, around 150 patients were being treated in the hospital on oxygen beds and more than two dozen patients were being treated on ventilator beds.
After the death of the people, the shocked family members have accused the civil authorities of negligence. NMC Municipal Commissioner Kailash Jadhav has ordered an inquiry into the incident and assured to take action against all the culprits.
The tragedy took place at the Dr. Zakir Hussain Hospital, run by the BJP-controlled Nashik Municipal Corporation, which is one of the largest civic bodies. Nashik is one of the worst Kovid-19 hotspots in the state.
