New Delhi: No official announcement has been made as to when Tesla’s electric car will enter India. Tesla CEO Alan Musk says his company wants to launch its cars in India. But India has the highest import duty on electric cars in the world. Musk had appealed to a Twitter user to launch Tesla’s car in India as soon as possible.
“We are also looking forward to launching cars in India,” Musk said. But import duty is higher in India. Also clean energy vehicles are understood as diesel and petrol. Tesla has appealed to the Indian government to reduce import duty on assembled cars this year.
