This Kovid hospital will be started with 250 beds on Monday and its capacity will be increased to 500 beds in a few days. All the beds will be equipped with oxygen cylinders and the center will have the appropriate number of ventilators and other basic medical facilities.
New Delhi: The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has decided to reopen a hospital located near Delhi Airport for the treatment of Corona patients. This Kovid Dedicated Hospital has been prepared, in which there is a provision of 500 beds. These are all ICU beds, which also have ventilators. Apart from this, a canteen is also being opened here, in which food will be prepared for the patient.
In view of the fast growing Corona case in the country, the Prime Minister, the Home Minister and the Defense Minister all asked to prepare the dedicated Kovid Hospital once again. DRDO chairman Satish Reddy said that on Sunday we will hand over this hospital to the doctors and after this the recruitment of patients will start here. Recently the home secretary has inspected here.
Arrangement of all essential medicines
The DRDO chairman said, “In view of the shortage of medicines, we have already talked to the outsourced agencies and whatever necessary medicines will be made available in this hospital.
No problem of any kind, we are already taking care of them all. On Sunday, the hospital will take charge and then the recruitment of patients will start here from the night itself. Right now, there will be a provision of 250 beds for 1 to 2 days and then 500 beds will be arranged after that.
He further said, ‘We have managed everything here. There is a ventilator with every bed. Apart from this, there is an air condition and the air condition that is installed here has a proper filter, so that infection or virus cannot spread. We have already talked to the outsourced agency for medicines also. Whatever medicines are needed should not be reduced here and we will work with the Delhi government, by making contact with them.
