Big News: Fugitive diamond trader Mehul Choksi arrested, to be brought to India?

Mehul Choksi, a diamond trader who absconded after defaulting on a Punjab National Bank loan of Rs 13,500 crore from PNB Bank, has been arrested.

Mumbai: Mehul Choksi, a diamond trader, has been arrested for defrauding PNB Bank of Rs 13,500 crore in Punjab National Bank scam. Important information regarding Mehul Choksi has come to light from Barbuda and Antigua. Choksi, who fled Antigua a few days ago, has been arrested. Mehul Choksi has been arrested in Dominica. After receiving information about Choksi, the local Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has taken action and arrested him. He is likely to be brought to India someday.

Mehul Choksi had fled India after committing a major fraud against PNB Bank. Efforts are being made by India to bring him back. It was reported that Choksi had fled Antigua on May 23 after Barbuda. He was then being searched. He had been living there since January 2018, according to the Royal Police Force on the Caribbean island. Meanwhile, Mehul Choksi was reported missing by his family after he absconded. Meanwhile, police received information that Choksi was in Dominica. He was later arrested by the CID. He is currently in CID custody.

After the arrest of Mehul Choksi, his lawyer Vijay Agarwal also informed about it. “I have been in touch with his family,” he said. Mehul informed that Choksi was found. His family is happy to know this. He is also relieved to know his whereabouts. An attempt is being made to contact Choksi to find out how he was taken to Dominica.
