Big news for students! Will take CET exam for 11th admission

CET exam in late July or first week of August

Mumbai: There was a lot of confusion among students and parents as to how the admission of class XI will be done. Finally, the school education department has announced its decision to conduct a separate CET examination for the eleventh admission process. The CET exam will be held in the last week of July or the first week of August. The examination for the eleventh admission will be completely optional. The school education department has given information about this.

Class 10 exams were canceled due to corona outbreak. Therefore, many questions were raised by students and parents on how to get the result of class X, how to get admission in class XI. On this, the State Board decided to announce the results of class X according to the evaluation method. After that, it has been decided to conduct CET examination for the students of State Board, CBSE, ICSE and other international boards who are now seeking admission for Class XI in all the junior colleges affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations.

State Board students who have applied for Class X examination for the academic year 2020-21 will have to pay the examination fee as they have already paid the examination fee. However, CBSE, ICSE and other international board students will have to pay a fee fixed by the state board.

CET will be based on State Board Class 10th syllabus. There will be multiple choice questions for this 100 mark exam and 2 hours exam will be taken by OMR method. It will have questions of 25 marks each on English, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences. The exam will be taken offline.

The entrance exam is completely optional and the information has been released so that the students can get advance information about the exam and also get enough time to prepare for the exam.

The optional Common Entrance Test (CET) will be held at the end of July or in the first week of August to ensure uniformity for Class XI admission and equal opportunity for all students in view of the internal evaluation of Class 10 results by various examination boards at school level.
